Treatment Introduction
Laser skin tightening targets skin laxity, enlarged pores and uneven skin tone, often associated with the natural processes of ageing. It is suitable for mild to moderate skin laxity, dropped contours and loss of collagen and elastin in the deeper layers of the skin. Fibroblast cells in the dermis are stimulated to produce more collagen, that over time helps to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The energy of the Nd/Yag is delivered deep into the dermal tissue where regeneration occurs.
Does it Hurt?
It is a comfortable treatment with minimal downtime. The skin can remain mildly flushed for up to 24 hours with possibly minor swelling.
Treatment
Your skin will be cleansed before treatment. No topical anaesthetic is required. During the procedure your eyes will be protected with goggles. After the treatment you will have 15mins of LED Red Light therapy followed by an hydrating mask. The skin is then treated with a moisturising serum and UVA/UVB antioxidant protection.
Post Treatment
It is important to protect your skin during the day with SPF 50 sun protection. After a laser treatment the skin is photo-sensitive for several weeks and has an increased risk of hypo or hyper pigmenting (lightening or darkening in patches). A supportive homecare routine with cosmeceutical skin care will help optimise the treatment.
